About Be Cancer Safe

Be Cancer Safe has been funded by the South Yorkshire, Bassetlaw and North Derbyshire Cancer Alliance. The project began in March 2018, and has been funded to run until March 2019. It is being delivered in North Derbyshire by Derbyshire Voluntary Action (www.dva.org.uk).

We have recruited over 4000 ‘champions’ who have pledged to have conversations with their own communities about the importance of early diagnosis and attending screening. These champions will carry the message forward and keep the movement going.

2023 update

Derbyshire Voluntary Action team are now building on the campaign and raising awareness of signs & symptoms or bowel cancer and the importance of screening.
